Glasgow-based Professional Wedding & Corporate Band looking for MALE LEAD VOCALIST BASS PLAYER
Hi folks!
I’m looking for any male vocalist-bass players out there for a position starting in March 2018.
(Not deliberately being sexist here, but I sing lead female vocals in the band, and most wedding and corporate clients prefer the mix of male/female vocals to give a dynamic range and increase the number of songs we can pull off properly without having to change the key of everything!)
At the moment, our bass-playing vocalist sings around 6/7 lead songs in the set, but backing vocals for almost every other song.
Ideally, I’d love someone with a bit of banter that I can bounce off of and have a laugh with. Someone who can help a bit with crowd interaction etc. Not essential, but would be a big bonus!
Bass-wise, we will be covering everything from Ceilidh to 90s dance, and some complex stuff. If you can play and sing Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing, You’re The One That I Want from Grease, and if you can pull off the bass solo from Call Me Al…then you’ve pretty much got the gig!
Availability to rehearse is important. We are ideally looking for a someone who can make time to rehearse once a week over the next few months to get up to speed with our entire set. (After you learn the set, rehearsals will be less often)
We would also, ideally, be looking for someone who actually wants to play with US, too. Someone who would take a bit of pride in being with the band, and not just treat it as just another gig...take the money and run.
As singing bass players are so rare, we would really need you to be a permanent fixture and not dep out every other gig for other projects as I’d probably need 2 people to replace you!
We all put our heart and soul into the band, and we probably rehearse more than any other wedding and function band - always adding new songs and constantly wanting to improve, so time spent at home learning songs to come into the studio to put them together is a must.
Transport and ability to get yourself to gigs is very important.
Good sense of humour also highly appreciated

We run medleys and we like to operate like a DJ going from song to song with no stops wherever possible, so ability to leap straight into the next song while the last note of the previous one is ringing out is a must….so STAMINA is definitely required to do this job, as there won't be much time to stop for water and a towel-down (unless you bring your own roadie to do that for you! haha!)
About us: we are a pro band that take our job seriously, but want to make it as fun and interesting as possible for everyone involved, and take pride in the "show" aspect of things. We are pretty easy to get along with, but are perfectionists so rehearsals and getting things right are important to us, but we still like to have a laugh!
If you are still reading this, and this sounds like it could be for you - get in touch!!
N.B If you respond, PLEASE include video footage, as having to chase round YouTube and your Facebook page looking for videos is very time consuming, and doesn't do you any favours!
Auditions will be held in December at Berkeley 2 Studios in Glasgow at a date TBC.
