Hi there,
Dvne is looking for a committed bassist to join the band. We're after someone who's comfortable playing the bass, but also who like exploring effects and texture. We're more after a good musician who can write great bass lines and jam rather than someone massively technical. If you can sing or scream, that's also a plus!
About the band, Dvne is a 4 piece post/prog metal band. We started in Edinburgh 4 years ago, and after releasing a couple of EP, we've just released an album Asheran over the summer which you can find on Spotify and Bandcamp. We've toured in and out the UK, with 3 European tours and shared the stage with bands like Eyehategod, Dragged Into Sunlight, Bossk, Der Weg Einer Freiheit and Inter Arma among others. The latest tour was done over three weeks this November, with shows in Germany, France, The Netherlands and the UK.
In term of influences, we listen to a lot of stuff and try to not limit ourselves to a specific style. However, bands like Isis, Tool, Mastodon (early era), Baroness and Neurosis have really shaped our sound.
What's next for us; We have a few gigs planned next year, in the UK, Europe and the US. Some of the festivals confirmed at the moment are Psycho Las Vegas this summer, ProgPower in the Netherlands in October and Soulstone Festival in Krakow in October. There will be more festivals and weekender tours in the UK and Europe announce soon.
We are also going to focus on writing a new album, with aim to start the recording process at the end of 2018/early 2019. You'll find the bass really present in our sound, and we're not after root notes. And so we really want to find a bassist who can contribute to the composition of the new album and help us shape its sound.
Finally, about us, we are all between 26 to 31 years old, from the UK and France. I'd say we're all easy going and very good friends with each other. So while we want to find the right fit musically, we also are after someone cool we can have a laugh with.
If this sounds good to you, please send us an email with more info about yourself, your influences, your rig and some musical projects you've contributed to if possible. If we're interested we'll go for a chat at first and figure out what's next.
Any question, please let me know. In the meantime you can find all our music and social pages here:
