FIRESTAR www.firestarinfo.co.uk
Hi Ray ,
We're a FIRESTAR Salisbury based Cover/ function band looking for a new keyboard player, as our last keys guy moved to Germany so were looking for a replacement. We play a wide mix of well known dancy chart songs from the 1960, 70's 80's 90's 00's , 2000+ right through to some recent chart hits mainly to keep the dance floor busy at the functions, parties and weddings we play.
You'd need your own gear and transport and you'd be playing the keyboard, piano, string, brass etc in these songs We like to cover the songs pretty close to the original singles to give our audiences some easily recognizable songs they'll definitely get on the dance floor too
We have gigs booked later in the year so just need to get on with the sets and for us all to gel as a band . ( The current sets are available to see at our website, although not totally set in stone ) We all learn and practice the songs at home between practices ready to play live, then bring these to the practice and get the band to gel play and tighten them up there. We have brilliant vocalist in Charlene ( Charlie) James on Guitar, Chris on Bass .
We're quite pretty keen on using technology where it helps with the sound etc but the emphasis is definitely on playing things live. I'm on drums and play Rolands Flagship TD50 Pro V drum kit, which gives us a great drum sound and the guitarist uses a Quad Cortex pedal to get his sounds etc.
We practice on a Weds evening 7.30 - 10.45pm in Alderbury Nr Salisbury. We usually try and get a couple of gigs in a month on average sometimes more sometimes less. These are normally , functions, weddings, balls etc rather than pubs, so generally in nice venues and for an average of £800 - £1400 per gig which is split equally between all the band members. We currently have £4700 worth of gigs booked ( Gigs this year and be taking on more gigs into 2024)
We have our own full Bose F1 PA ( 2xBins & 2x Mid/top Cabs ) , digital 20 channel mixer, recorder with remote Ipad control, with 6x individual monitor mixes, In Ear or headphone Monitoring, foldback cabs, LED light show, fog machines etc so we're pretty well equipped.
We are really looking for someone who wants to join and stick with the band and commit to it like the rest of us as we are all keen to push the band to be quite a high level function band.. We are a real friendly bunch and want everyone in the band to be involved equally , and be happy to work together and happy give as much help as we can to each other where its needed... and have great fun doing some great reasonably well paid gigs ????
If your interested in the position or just want to have a chat about the band and under no obligation to join, please don't hesitate to get in touch by email trev@tpdesign.co.uk or my Mobile 07779 268 764 to call , text or whats app.
I'll be happy to answer any questions at all .
All the best
Trev
