I'm looking for people to play with. I'd like to perform some of my songs live, or, if you think I'd fit in with whatever you're doing that would be great too.
So for the past 10 or so years I've mostly been concentrating on writing and composing rather than performing, so I'm going to need some practise.
Difficult to describe what I'm writing at the moment, but I guess there are elements of goth, post-rock, dream pop and blues? I'm gloomy and in to spooky keyboards at the moment. I guess what I want to make is more "thoughtful" or "arty" or "pretentious". It will not be party music, and I will not rock the crowd.
bands for reference - Blonde Redhead, early Beach House, Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, Rema-Rema, early 80s the Cure,
Here's a link to my most recent stuff-

and a link to a playlist I made of what I thought was my best stuff - https://soundcloud.com/chickenicarus/sets/best
- so all that was written and recorded by me. No samples etc, but plenty of cutting and dubbing, so maybe not a great representation of my live playing ability.
I'm 32 years old, male, and I live in West Newcastle. I work four days a week and don't own a car.
I've been taking (classical) music lessons since I was 7, and composing my own music since I was about 9. I got grade 5 theory in primary school and was playing in groups and competing at a national level til I was about 17.
But I've never been in a pop/rock/whatever "band". I've been playing guitar for about 15 years, and can do very amateurish bass/synths/singing etc.
I'm committed to making music, and it's something I take seriously. I've always made music, and always will whether anyone is listening or not. However, I might not get things done very quickly.
So in terms of what I'm looking for, any age and gender, open to most instruments (including vocals!) at the moment but versatility would be great, with an attitude of patient open-mindedness. Would want to practise in studios in Newcastle.
