Our originals band (currently vocals/guitar, bass and drums) are looking for a second guitarist to complete our line-up.
We have a full LP’s worth of songs already devised and some initial demos recorded. Stylistically they are in the realm of alternative/post-punk (early Editors/Joy Division/Interpol etc.) but with some additional electronic elements. The closest reference to our sound is perhaps White Lies’ To Lose My Life album.
We are looking for a guitarist who is comfortable with alternating between rhythm and lead parts, with a focus on filling out and enhancing the dynamics of each song. We would be particularly interested in hearing from guitarists who are adept at ambient and shoegaze styles of playing.
Our ethos is that the songs come first and everything we play should support that. If you don’t think one of our parts is working then we want and expect you to challenge us, and in turn please be prepared for us to challenge you as well.
We have careers outside of music so are unlikely to drop everything and go on tour any time soon, but we do treat this as a professional venture in terms of our focus and commitment. It is imperative that our bandmates also share that same work ethic.
We rehearse at Arch Studios, Chiswick, over a four day period once every month (Thurs/Fri 18:00-22:00 & Sat/Sun 11:00-15:00) and in between those rehearsals we work remotely on writing, recording and sharing ideas with each other. This means that we always have plenty to work on when we get together in the rehearsal room.
The age-range of current members is 35-44 but we’re happy to work with people outside of that range if they are the right fit for the project. It goes without saying that all genders/races/nationalities/sexualities are welcomed, and we very much encourage applications from any underrepresented groups within the industry.
If this sounds interesting then please get in touch, we’d love to share our demos and find out some more about you.
