Kidderminster based Originals/Covers band seeking a committed & enthusiastic drummer. We have a full album worth of original material ready to record. We've already had airplay on BBC Introducing & between us have a good network of local connections to get gigs; having already played at a variety of festivals & venues locally.
Our music is broadly roots, encompassing a variety of styles from Blues, Soul, Rock, Indie, Reggae & Folk. Covers/Artists we play include the following:
R Dean Taylor - There's A Ghost In My House,
Tommy Tucker - Hi Heel Sneakers
Little Walter - My Babe
Some Johnny Cash, early Elvis, Howlin' Wolf, Sam Cooke, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Smiths & Pokey Lafarge. & we're always open to hear & absorb new material.
We're interested in building a viable setlist to play in pubs. We like to play material that is listenable & enjoyable for the audience but at the same time not necessarily the 'obvious' songs that you hear every other covers band play. For example, you won't hear us play Valerie, Summer of 69, Mustang Sally or anything by Bon Jovi. We also like to incorporate as many of our original songs as possible where possible & depending on the type of gig/venue.
We're also keen to record regular cover videos to post on social media, covering a wider variety of material. The idea of this is to give us more scope to cover songs that may not be suitable for pub gigs, but could be by artists that collectively we really like. Examples of this would be songs like Big Black Car by Gregory Alan Isakov or Please, Please, Please by The Smiths - both of which are great tracks but wouldn't necessarily go down particularly well in a pub setting. As well as paired down not-so-gig-friendly songs we will also be looking to post videos showcasing what we do at gigs as well.
All original material is worked on as a collective and everyone has a say & an input into the overall sound & the creative process, whether that's arranging, dynamics, feel - we all have an equal input - the key is passion & enthusiasm.
We're looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic but above all has the ability to commit to regular rehearsal. We rehearse weekly, usually on a Tuesday (early evening) & once things get back to normal we're going to be looking to gig 2/3 times per month. All money we generate from gigs goes into financing recording & releasing our original material. The ideal person will also be keen to help grow our audience & become involved in promoting and developing our social media presence.
