After spending far too long writing on my own, I'm finally at the point where I want to stop collecting songs on a hard drive and actually get a proper band together.
Age around mid 20s—mid 30s. A little younger or older is fine. Reliability and good attitude and wanting to actually make a band is more important.
I'm a guitarist looking for a vocalist, bassist and drummer (possibly a second guitarist later on) to build an originals band that's in it for the long haul.
The sound sits somewhere around Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Tremonti, Sevendust, 10 Years and Cold. Heavy riffs, big melodic choruses, darker atmosphere and songs that are memorable without going into screamo territory, though I don't mind a little screams/roars if it adds to the song.
I've already got plenty of original material to work from, so we won't be staring at a blank rehearsal room wondering what to play. At the same time, I'm not looking for people to just copy parts note for note. If you've got ideas that make a song better, I want to hear them. I'd rather build something together than dictate every little detail.
The goal is simple: rehearse regularly, get a solid 30–45 minute set together, start gigging, and see where we can take it. I'm taking this seriously and I'm looking for people who are too.
I'm much more interested in finding reliable people who enjoy writing and turning up every week than chasing the flashiest players around. Good attitude beats a huge ego every time.
If this sounds like something you'd be up for, send me a message. Tell me a bit about yourself, what bands you're into, and any previous band experience if you've got it. Hopefully we'll get a rehearsal sorted and make some noise.
