Hi! We're Dan (Drums, Songwriting, Multi-instrumentalist) and Nik (Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Songwriting), and we're No Fax Diet. No Fax Diet is a Pop-Funk-Jazz-Experimental band. We've got a broad set of influences, but sound-wise we're going for something like BadBadNotGood meets King Gizzard meets Kruanghbin, with some Sly Stone/Gil Scott-Heron in mind.
We've been playing music together for about a year with various people, but haven't found the ideal line-up yet. We are late 20s early 30s, and are looking for people from mid 20s to mid 30s, but not overly set in stone about this.
What we want to do with this project:
- we want to write great songs (we already have about 8, plus several in the pipeline)
- we want to practice them, with a goal of meeting 3 times a month.
- we want to release singles, an EP, and maybe an album.
- we want to play gigs in and around London.
What we're looking for:
- One or two people who can contribute significantly to expanding both the sound and the musical direction of the band. We're not set in stone as to what this should be, but we'd be happiest with someone who's creative and perhaps can play more than one instrument. People who can sing would also be brilliant.
- People who are available to practice 3 times a month. We usually practice at a Pirate Studios location (70% Earlsfield, 30% Notting Hill). So far, we've often practiced on Tuesdays - we can change that if required, but it would be good to keep it going.
- People who have a degree of experience in playing in a band; e.g. gigging, recording. It would be great if you'd be able to record stuff at home and share project files/demos.
- People who are keen to not only to practice but also to hang out socially, and communicate clearly.
