Hello there, I have had the concept of a new project going around in my head for quite a while now called ‘Number 6’ and I have been doing a little bit of work on it when I’ve had the time. This may sound very strange to most but the whole idea is almost wholly inspired by the 1967 television programme ‘The Prisoner’. The concept I am looking to do with hopefully a full album release would be a 17 song album with each song being titled as a reference to the relevant episode from ‘The Prisoner’, with a few curveballs and surprises maybe thrown in as well. The main musical inspirations I would be looking to draw from for this project would be largely from progressive rock/prog metal influences, with bands such as Tool, Karnivool, Porcupine Tree and Oceansize being among my favourites. But I am always open to adding more styles into the work. I myself am a bass player and have been playing for several years and have been in a few bands over the years on the Suffolk rock scene. I am in my mid 20’s if that is relevant, I would be looking to have a fairly long period of jamming and getting this collection of songs down and very tight as a band before going any further to live shows. I also have a bit of a thing about only doing a physical release and keeping off streaming, which will limit the amount of people we can reach but I think it just seems the more right thing to do to me for some reason. I have a fairly large catalogue of riffs that I have been storing over the years waiting for the right project to come up. I would most likely be looking to jam at Black Cactus Studios on the outskirts of Colchester but I can go further afield if people are farther away. As for the people I am looking for, I am looking for a guitarist (Quite possibly 2 guitarists), a drummer and then probably later down the line a vocalist/lyricist also. If this project sounds interesting to you at all or you have any questions please drop me a message.
Cheers,
Andrew.
