Going to try putting a band together myself now that I can't seem to find an active one to join. I'm looking for some people who want to practice about once a week, are willing to commit and have a passion for writing original material. Here's my previous advert, for a bit about me.
I'm a guitarist of 10 or so years, singer of about 6 (23 years old). I've been in several bands before, played live a handful of times. I've written an EP worth of complete songs as solely guitarist with a previous band (being the main song writer - they were never finished with other instruments because the rest of the band never completed their parts). I'd say I'm a capable guitarist and an intermediate level singer. Range is quite middle of the road.
The ideal band for me would aim to get a set list of covers gig ready to get on stages ASAP and work on writing some originals to eventually replace the whole lot of covers. I've got about 50 different riffs and guitar ideas roughly recorded, so we can probably mesh some stuff together into an EP pretty quickly around our favourites. I've no experience writing vocal lines yet, but that's something I anticipate learning as I go along.
I'd like to do some heavy rock stuff, I'm a big fan of grunge and modern rock. My tastes span from soft bluesy rock (chilli peppers, arctic monkeys), to soft metal (bullet for my valentine, BMTH). I'm pretty open to writing anything within this range as long as it has some light, shade and fast riffs.
Some of my favourite bands that I'd like to write some stuff similar to are -
Muse (first 3 albums), breaking benjamin, soundgarden, audioslave, foo fighters, alice in chains, skillet, alter bridge, guns n roses, three days grace, saint asonia, queen, nirvana
