I’m currently looking to build a strong, reliable group of musicians for a number of upcoming live projects across Northern Ireland.
This isn’t about throwing a band together for a few gigs — I’m looking for good players who want to work as a team, develop the shows properly and build something that can grow over time.
THE PROJECTS
Function Band
A professional live band aimed at weddings, corporate events, private functions and larger events.
Forever Barlow – The Music of Take That
A full theatre-style production celebrating the music of Gary Barlow and Take That, with the intention of bringing the show into theatres and live venues throughout Northern Ireland and beyond.
Original Country Band
A live band built around my own original country/country-pop material, alongside selected covers where appropriate. There is already early interest for Culture Night next year, as well as opportunities with smaller theatres and live venues throughout Northern Ireland.
LOOKING FOR:
• Drummer
• Bass Player
• Guitarist
• Multi-Instrumentalist
• Musical Director / MD
• Backing Vocalists
A Musical Director would be particularly important, ideally someone who can take responsibility for helping organise the musicians, arrangements, rehearsals, musical preparation and keeping the live band tight across the different projects.
Multi-instrumentalists and musicians who can also provide strong backing vocals would be a massive bonus.
ABOUT ME
I’m an experienced frontman and lead vocalist with experience performing in full-production shows as well as being the lead singer of an established two-piece live act.
I also perform my own original material and play some acoustic guitar, although the aim with these projects is to build a proper full live band around the material.
For both the Forever Barlow show and the original material, professional stems will be available.
All music/stems can be supplied to make learning and preparation as straightforward as possible, with the live musicians then adding the energy, dynamics and musicianship needed to broaden the tracks and turn them into a proper live production.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
Ideally 25+, although ability, attitude and professionalism are more important than a number.
You must:
• Be a competent and confident player
• Have your own equipment
• Be able to drive / travel to rehearsals and shows
• Be prepared to learn material properly
• Be reliable and communicate well
• Be comfortable working with stems/clicks where required
• Be willing to rehearse and develop the projects properly
• Have a professional attitude on and off stage
Most importantly, I’m looking for people who actually want to be part of a team.
This is not an overnight project and I’m not looking for people who want to turn up, play a couple of gigs and disappear.
The aim is to find the right musicians, put the work in, build the shows properly and create something that can develop into regular live work.
