I am a music industry professional with 20 years experience as a musician and promoter (I play most string instruments & sing to a good standard, have promoted & managed over 50 paid gigs in name venues).
Having spotted a gap in the market I have decided to branch out on my own placing bands into 500-1000 seater funded provincial venues in the UK.
I want to create & perform (I have recent gigging experience in Manchester) a band to basically 'give paying audiences what they want' and I want to start with a New Wave Juke box band.
Some backstory on me: I have been TM for a Mercury music prize winning artist, have worked very closely with Grammy award winning artists, and artists who have UK AND US number one singles.
This doesn't mean I am not interested in you if you have not had such experience!
New Wave music is easy to play. Commitment (I find) is the much harder to find than talent.
I would envisage a 5 piece band (we have 2 members already) with keys, guitars, vocals and drums. Four may work. I would want to rehearse regularly at PIRATE in Salford, Manchester, where I have an account.
Then we would play some warm up gigs before playing at a 500-ish seater venue which my investors would book and pay deposits for etc. From then we could gig regularly around the UK.
Enough about the business - I would handle that end! The aim is that all band members are paid at least £500 per performance once we are up and running.
This may all sound a bit dry. I love playing and performing music, I love New Wave, and here is a real opportunity to make a bit of money doing so.
So contact me, any gender or age, bass/guitar/keys, even drum if my current skin banger lets me down.
Cheers
Sam
