Hey,
Just a heads up. Long post but give me 2 mins and it could change your life...
I'm a self employed white male from a working class/low income family with no musical background. Always wanted to be a budding musician and now I'm in my late 20's- that dream is still strong as ever. I'm from Walsall living in Ladywood, looking for fellow musicians living in Birmingham to make music with.
Basically, I've got an audition coming up for a national competition that's been advertised on here the past few months (soundwaves) which I've already paid to enter. I have a handful of originals that I made on FL Studio that I'd be happy to share with you in person or online, but essentially we would practice 2-3 covers in time for the audition in March. My dream is to play with a full live band down the line (guitars, drums, backing vocals, bass, synth, sax and piano) but atm looking for minimum- a drummer, guitarist or pianist with the possibility of having a 3 or 4 piece band if we get past the audition stage and into the live shows consisting of a drummer, bassist and pianist/guitarist (some of whom will be willing and able to sing backing vocals) with myself singing lead vocals and playing guitar/keys.
I like pop, indie and alt rock with an emphasis on bands like the 1975, tame impala, red rum club and harry styles- just to give you a taste of the kind of music I'd like to make.

I like to produce, write songs, lyrics and melodies, play guitar, piano/synth, drums and perform. Looking for someone to bring something new to the table- I have a bunch of my own equipment but if we collaborate then I'll be happy to book muthers, uprawr or pirate studios in Birmingham for us to rehearse together depending on your schedule, location and what works best for us both.
The audition isn't until March so would ideally like to meet 2-3x a month until then starting ASAP.
If you're interested, please drop me a message, I'm only a beginner at most of the stuff (jack of all trades, master of none) but if you can help me with getting better as a musician by showing your skill in one or more of the areas of music production then I'll be happy to reimburse you for travel and book the studios.
Nothing too serious but I would really like to make a go of putting my mark on the Birmingham music scene after seeing friends and people around me achieve success in the industry. I know I seem to be asking for a lot but if you've made it this far, you'd like to make some music and want to talk about this opportunity a bit then HMU by sending a private message and I'll give you a reply and look into setting up a jam session.
With love,
LC
