Have you got a great voice, tons of presence and personality, and love Soul music?
Are you always at rehearsals and want to be the only person in the room having a better time than the audience?
Can you sing a setlist without the need for having all the lyrics in front of you all the time?
Does the audience warm to your charisma and awesome smile, and great personality?
Are you as cool as F*** but humble with it, and know when to step back and let an instrumentalist take a solo, while you just groove to the music, and then lift the roof off when you come back in...
Then you could be just what we're looking for...
We are a very experienced musicians, in the process of putting together a top notch soul/funk/disco covers band to play big gigs, parties, festivals, weddings, and every good time event where the audience just wants to groove.
You will be the front man (or woman) - Ideally we'd like one of each.
It's a covers band, playing great tunes that everyone knows - Think the O'jays, Aretha, Sam & Dave, Stevie Wonder, Wilson Pickett, Gloria Gaynor - you get the idea.... in fact, think Huddersfield's version of the Blues Brothers 'Revue' - the sort of music that you can take anywhere and everyone loves it because... well, because it's great soul.
We will be gigging sooner rather than later - we don't intend to spend 6 months in a rehearsal room before we're playing to audiences, mostly in the Yorkshire/Greater Manchester region.
Ideally you'll already know just about every song, because you've been singing them for years, and ideally you're reasonably local, and/or got your own transport.
And most importantly, you're not a dick who takes themselves ever so seriously, or a flake. You have a wicked sense of humour, and want to play with awesome musicians who know how to give an audience the best night they've had in years.
