CIRCA-02 – The Soundtrack To Your MSN Away Message


I am a grown adult frontman refusing to emotionally progress beyond the golden era of Kerrang!, Scuzz TV and Jackass — and I'm building a covers band dedicated to the absolute peak of early 2000s pop punk, nu metal and alt rock.

We’re talking:
Blink-182
Sum 41
Linkin Park
Limp Bizkit
The Used
Papa Roach
Fall Out Boy (before they discovered glitter)
System of a Down
Avril. Obviously.

Looking for:
???? Drums – must hit like it’s 2002 and you’ve just been dumped via text.
???? Guitar – chunky riffs, zero jazz chords, dramatic pauses encouraged.
???? Bass – preferably willing to look mildly furious at all times.

This is a covers band.
But it’s a concept.
We treat every gig like it’s Download 2003 and we’re third on the main stage.
Expect:
Big singalong choruses
Occasional unnecessary screaming
Fake nostalgia speeches about “when music was real”
References to MySpace that nobody under 30 understands
Subtle lower back pain
You must:
Actually love this era
Commit to the bit
Not mind being part of something very self-aware
