Hi! I am a 19 year old musician who's recently moved to Wisbech, who is interested in putting together a band to play originals, with the occasional cover (but not as a focus).
I am looking for a bassist, drummer, and either a vocalist or guitar player - i play guitar and do sing, but am not a confident vocalist, so i'm interested in either!
The goal is to have no more than 4 total members. Ideally, I'd prefer members around my own age (18-23) but if you're a bit outside that age range and have some musical experience a message would still be appreciated. Ideally no under-16's or over-30's, though.
I already have some originals posted on my soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/stitchbxby) which should give an impression of the general direction of music I'd like the band to go in. However, they're not entirely representative, as I'm a lot more interested in going down a more accessible alt-rock route i.e. The Kooks, Movements, Paramore etc.
I'd absolutely appreciate anyone from or into any genre of music and am entirely open and willing to experimenting with other genres. Whilst for now I am writing by myself, I want to collaborate and work with other musicians as equals, not just as hired guns to play exclusively my music.
My own influences range from 90-2000s rock like Deftones and My Chemical Romance to more modern pop like the Weeknd and Halsey, to indie artists such as Faye Webster and Phoebe Bridgers, and electronic music like Burial and Eartheater. So again - any and all styles of music are entirely welcome! so you *must* be open to playing and writing in a variety of styles.
Ideally, I'd like to find a drummer and bass player who aren't afraid to be heard and to provide their own ideas, alongside a guitar player who isn't opposed to sharing the spotlight equally with the rest of the band. Whilst I'm not opposed to strong personalities, I don't want somebody who's inconsiderate and wants to be the sole face and contributor to a project - the point of the band is for all four of us to be equal both in the creation and performance of the music.
A moderate skill level is required - you don't need to be the best player in the world, but at least a few years of experience playing and being competent at playing to a click is absolutely essential.
I'm also competent using Ableton Live and have a rudimentary recording setup, and I have some mixing skills, which should help with recording our music and getting it out there. I've also started to form connections with other local artists and am trying to get known in the local scene.
