This is a repost from a few weeks ago but to remind people of the concept….
We have everyone except:
- Male vocalist (with other instruments like flute or sax a bonus)
- Drummer
Please get in touch as we want to get this going sooner rather than later to get some gigs in during 2022.

After considering a few ideas since I returned to the Midlands I have now landed on what I think could be a really interesting idea: popular, fun to play and potentially lucrative!
Has anyone sat down and looked at all the pop/rock music that has come from the Midlands area over the last 60 years? Look at some of these bands that come from Birmingham or within about 40 miles:
• Black Sabbath
• Dexy's Midnight Runners
• Duran Duran
• ELO
• Hazel O'Connor
• Joanne Shaw Taylor
• Judas Priest
• Justin Haywood
• Led Zeppelin (half of!)
• Magnum
• Moody Blues
• Ocean Colour Scene
• Slade
• Spencer Davies Group
• Steve Winwood
• The Beat
• The Move
• Toyah
• T'Pau
• Traffic
• UB40
• Wizard
It’s quite a range of music but how popular would an evening of “Brummie Rock” be?
To do this effectively you would need:
• Male vocals
• Female vocals (we have)
• Bass (me)
• 2 guitars, with at least one able to do acoustic in parts
• Drums
• Keyboards (with the skill and sound capability to cover everything from the Mellotrons of Moody Blues to the synths of Duran Duran and strings of ELO)
By definition this would not be a band for beginners and as some of the songs come from the 1960s it would probably suit more mature players (we are in the 55-60 age bracket).
I’ve led tribute bands to The Who and Black Sabbath before so have some idea how to market such shows effectively.
We are based in East Shropshire but it would be worth travelling for such an idea I think.
We’d start off with music pubs and then into smaller theatre venues. With such a variety of bands there would not need to be a specific “look” but we would like to look like entertainers!
If of interest please PM me
