Featured Lyricist looking to stop, collaborate and listen Not relevant really but Carms and surrounding areas

Rhys is back with a brand new invention (though that doesn’t really f***king rhyme does it butt!?) (TL;DR: I have two examples of songs written to music below, though one is mostly in Welsh, can provide translation if pressed, though the rhyming scheme will be completely off innit, for details etc private message is right there and we can negotiate terms properly).
S’appenin’, name’s Rhys, 32, and my father, Google AI and my therapist (the AI, called me a wordsmith, though I think they have to be overly flattering, sycophantic, hyperbolic and fluff you up a bit so you let your guard down for when they try to take over not just art and music but all of humanity, but I digress) said that I need to do more writing, and frankly, whilst I focus on therapy (lots of ciggies and vaping atm), I’d prefer to do so passively (even though ultimately I want to be in a band and playing shows again).
I’m more of a hardcore vocalist, so I’m far better writing lyrics with fairly high bpm, or emphatic, built up bpm (was previously in a post-hardcore/metalcore band from 17-20, and in a hardcore band fairly recently til we parted *somewhat* amicably from November to September), but I can write to anything comfortably and about anything (if it’s from the heart I can really capture something in a unique way, I’d like to think at least).
Here’s a song I’d written in Welsh but has an English section and I can even translate if asked. For context, I wrote this for my most recent band New Low and one of the gents was a local lad, hardcore tends to be very “hometown represent” in ethos, so the gents called the audio track “Copper Bay Takeover”, Copper Bay being in Swansea, so I wrote the lyrics from the perspective of a reluctant soldier, just wanting to see the sun again (since the weather is dogshit), storming the beaches of Swansea…
… Tapped I know but I just grabbed the bois’ title and ran with it, plus I’ve been wanting to write a concept album for years and years, since I started a band initially, and it’s certainly the least vulnerable of my songs so I feel less weird about sharing. Also low stakes even if people want to knick it or even if the old band used it, in the least bitter way possible, the gents can kindly stuff themselves for giving me the boot, citing “gainful employment” as an excuse when we’re a hardcore band, so far into my tenure when I don’t do well with abandonment when I’m settled, I’m not assed about being real frankly lmaooooo.
Ymysod Ar Bae Copr (No Sun, See?)
Dydw i’n mynd i gweld yr haul heddi,
Methu clywed yr adar drosto y gweiddi,
Mae’r cymylau’n llanw’r awyr mewn llwyd,
Fyddaf ddim nol catref erbyn amser bwyd,
Ymosod ar y traeth a codi lan fy’n llais,
Clywoch beth wna i ddweud, gofynnais,
Os heddiw yn dydd perfaith am rhyfelu,
Roeddwn yn gobeithio i cysgu mewn yn gwely,
Yn yr awyr, ar y ddaer, yn y môr gall eich fod yn siwr,
Fod heddiw’n anffodys i pawb sy’n piwr,
Does dim lliw yn fy’n llygaid blinedig,
Mae’r tonnau a’r gwynt yn mor angharedig,
Mae’r fyddin gyferbin yn ddim yn chwarae’n teg,
Wnes i ddod a cyllell i ymladdu dryllau, un yn
erbyn deg,
Dangoswch eich sylw i mi fy’n capten,
Mae’r bwledi yn hedfan drosto fy’n mhen,
Dydw i’n eisiau fod ma yn canol annwfn,
Ein llong troi drosto a suddo danfor dwfn,
I refuse to go to war but on home soil my heels are deep,
Though afraid to lose my last f***king shred of empathy,
For my fellow man, who’s not too dissimilar from me,
Engulf me in the crossfire send me down into the deep,
Mae fy’n mrodyr yn gwaedu drosto fi,
My brothers are bleeding over me,
Dydw i’n mynd i gweld yr haul heddi,
I’m not going to see the sun today,
I’m not going to see the sun today,
Not just the skyline is ambiguously grey,
Can’t see my comrades through the fog and rain,
My whole heart is bleeding my disdain,
For those in power who send us off instead,
Come home broken f*ck that I would rather be dead
Can probably tell I’m far more articulate and verbose in English, but not half bad with Welsh either, especially the more that I’ve done it (which is weird, since I’m Rhys, and my old band had the most Welsh names in existence, Ynyr, Cerith, Rhodri and Aled… All dead fluent, never thought to write in Welsh unfortunately! Guess at the time we figured metalcore was fringe and niche enough to have difficulty finding an audience etc, whereas it’s getting more and more popular from what I can tell).
Also here’s one fully in English that I wrote for Conflicts, which is a shame since we only played it twice (once at the biggest show we played, the other at my farewell show, despite the boys feeling it be best we didn’t because we onboarded a new bassist), it’s probably the best lyrically in our catalogue in my opinion, if a bit dated and from the mind of a naive, scared little boy in a 20 year old man’s body (still not my most vulnerable mind you, fully just trauma dumping on stage).
Home I Call Hell
Self doubt is still getting me down,
Why do I feel like I am going to drown,
My insecurities get the best of me,
Shackled to my problems I just want to be free,
I am buried under so much sh*t,
No way of digging out of it,
Even depression has it's price,
Distracting my mind with every vice,
Another night in a stranger's bed,
It's no wonder that I'm losing my head,
And all the things that's wrong with me,
Went up with the bottle and went down with the whiskey
Engulfed in a world that has faded to grey,
Tongue tied can't find the words to say,
To explain this pain I feel inside,
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide,
I can feel my legs give in on me,
I want to be the man I used to be,
To have a mind not riddled with doubt,
Oh man feels like there's no way out
I've been praying to an empty sky,
To find the answer to get me by,
No answer, I'm f**ked,
Safe to say I'm sh*t out of luck
Engulfed in a world that has faded to grey,
Tongue tied can't find the words to say,
To explain this pain I feel inside,
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide,
I can feel my legs give in on me,
I want to be the man I used to be,
To have a mind not riddled with doubt,
Oh man feels like there's no way out
God damn I need a friend,
To tell me it's not the end,
To clear the shroud inside my head,
That's keeping me from getting out of bed,
To bring a smile to my sorrowed face,
To stop me feeling out of place,
To help me come out of my shell,
To pull me out of this home I call hell
Misery loves company,
Why do I feel like such a catastrophe?
Feels like there's ice running through my veins,
Beginning to feel numb towards the pain,
I long to feel again,
To feel like I'm not the bane,
To everything I ever loved,
It's hard enough without this push and shove,
I need a friend,
To tell me it's not the end,
To help me clear my mind,
To help me look for what I'm trying to find,
I need a friend,
I need a friend,
I need a friend,
I need a friend.
So yeah, I know most singer-songwriters who write their own music can write lyrics, but for those that have a beat but no voice, or something to say but can’t quite put into words, I’m here, I’m queer, I don’t want anymore bears (even though they’re adorable and if they were tame I would love to be hugged by one, they remind me of my best friend and best therapist, Gelert the chocolate lab, Rest In Power boio). Apologies for the novel, but it’s just further proof I’m good for the job.
