So I'd love to put together a 90s-00s R&B inspired band or just jam this kind of music. Something musically interesting with some groove, swing and soul while being super catchy and dancey. Is there anyone else in the liverpool/knowsley region with similar thoughts? I've a wide taste in music though more heavily inspired in this area by the likes of Mint Condition (listen to Who Can You Trust, or Be Like That Sometimes), Dirty Loops, anything new-jack swing, and also heavier stuff like Issues and Slaves (US) combining metal/alternative with R&B style vocals. I'm a singer primarily though play guitar amongst other instruments and do some home recording. I'd love to do a mix of reimagined covers of 90s-00s r&b classics and work on originals.
I've no idea how you find musicians with similar taste in this day and age so at this point I'm just looking for anybody who thinks this sounds like an interesting idea.
I lost my voice late 2019 and only got it back in recent months and have been strengthening my voice back up using this daft karaoke app Smule. That's probably the place you'll find the most accurate representation of my singing atm.

then here's some snippets of a few very rough demos I've put together over the past few years, though all need work:
