Hi! Hope you're well !
I'm Noor, 24, based in South London, and I'm looking to start an original R&B/pop band with other women who genuinely love making music.
My dream has always been to be the lead singer in a band, and instead of waiting until I finally feel "good enough", I've decided I'd rather just go for it and find people who want to grow together.
Musically, I'm inspired by artists like ZAYN, SZA, Kehlani, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer. I'd love to make music that's rooted in R&B and pop but driven by guitars, strong melodies, harmonies and honest songwriting.
A little bit about me...
I've played guitar for a few years, although I drifted away from it while studying, and I'm now getting back into it. I've also recently started singing lessons, so I'm still developing as a vocalist. More than anything though, I'm constantly writing little melody ideas, lyric snippets and song concepts. I've realised I have a real itch to collaborate with other people instead of keeping everything in my bedroom.
I don't have any music online or an artist profile just yet, and honestly I'm okay with that. I'd love for that to be something we build together as a band.
I'm not looking for polished professionals or people who've already "made it". I'm much more interested in finding kind, creative people who are excited by the idea of building something from the ground up. Whether you've been singing for years or you've always wanted to sing but never really had the confidence, I'd genuinely love to hear from you.
In an ideal world, I'd love to find:
- Lead guitarist
- Bassist
- Drummer
It'd be amazing if everyone was interested in singing too (even if it's just harmonies!) And enjoyed writing original music. I want this to feel like a real collaboration where everyone brings ideas to the table, supports each other and grows into better musicians together
If you're someone who writes random lyrics in your Notes app, records melody ideas into your phone at 2 am, or has always secretly wanted to be in a band but never knew where to start... we'll probably get along..
I'd especially love to connect with other women of colour, as I'm South Asian myself and think it'd be really special to build a space where we can relate to each other's experiences. That said, the biggest things I'm looking for are kindness, commitment and a genuine love for making music.
If any of this sounds like your kind of project, I'd absolutely love to hear from you. Even if you're still learning, don't let that put you off! I am too lool
Let's build something special.
