Hello, fine people,
I am a singer/poet-lyricist and aspiring musician, located out of the UK. I have plans to relocate to the UK--as soon as circumstances are kinder to my lot, but until then, I am looking for musicians for an online collaboration.
I already have a band name, concept, vision. I write lyrics and melodies, and I am beginning to learn how to use a DAW, but it has always been my ambition to form a real band (i.e., containing other members besides me, myself and I; to add an already rumly crowd, as it is).
I am looking for committed musicians who are interested in forging a career in music; to wit, I am not looking for people only dabbling in music as a hobby (I take music seriously, and do other things for fun.....I wrote 'for gun', first. See, I told you I'm a poet!) or who have their priorities elsewhere. Music is my priority, and so as not to waste my valuable time or yours, do not reply if your priorities are of a more personal nature (romantic/familial/social), because I take my musical ambitions seriously. I am also not interested in doing covers; I am into creating original music.
This, along with your taste in music, is what matters to me. Whether you've worked with big names, or have an extensive resume, does not matter to me; in fact, I would prefer people who, though seriously committed to music, are not professionals with a rich discography to show me, as I cannot show you the same. I am an eager beginner, and I am interested in people are are eager to walk the path to creative pursuits with me, not ahead of me. I take pride in my underground approach to music; I believe music-making should be available to everyone, not only those privileged enough to have easy recourse to the music business.
I am not looking for a business relationship. I am looking for a friendly relationship with people who share my vision (on which you can learn more if you're interested in this ad), people who are passionate about creating original music, people who get the chills just by thinking they could contribute to creating a song that had never existed before. So while I am looking people whose goals are to seriously commit themselves to music, I am also looking for people whose primary aim is to enjoy themselves forging a personal musical language, not hitting it big, since I am not interested in a commercial sound.
I want to create a personal sonic landscape, so I am not overly influenced by anyone else's, but the bands I admire for their sound and vision, in no order, are: Talking Heads, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Roxy Music, Tears For Fears, Pet Shop Boys, the Smiths, The Cure, Shakespears Sister, Soft Cell, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, the Doors, Portishead, inter alia.
As for genres, I am quite eclectic. I like loads of old jazz and blues and r'n'b, and dark electro, gothic rock, glam rock, lots of metal (mostly melodic), B-movie soundtracks, Florida beats, swamp pop, hip hop/beats/samples, trip hop, ambient. These are just some of the genres and artists that inspire me, if not consciously influence me.
If you believe fit my artistic desiderata, and are an adventurous musician interested in conquest of original and personal musical territories, please send me a PM, and tell me about yourself. I await your message with the same ardour I apply to my artistic vision, and what a fine ardour it is, too. Cheers for now, screams of glory for later. What are you waiting for. I'm outrageously charming; you're outrageously charming. Join me in my dark corner, join my band, and let's create the soundtrack to our Tempean lives.
EDIT: Please don't send me a message like ''u hav any samples of u smwhr''. I expect a full presentation of your vision, ambition, and tastes, just like I have lain my own onto this forum. That's the kind of passion I expect. If you're not the type, don't bother replying. There are other ads more suitable for you.
