Hi
I own an original solo project and in the next few years I'm aiming to take it to the next level. Over the last year I've released a debut EP and I'm in the process of finishing off the second EP. The music has been featured on BBC Introducing in the West, Union Jack Radio, Glastonbury FM and several other local/radio stations.
I've played several full band gigs in the local area such as Godney Gathering 2018, Glastonbury Calling and over this summer I've played many acoustic gigs with Somerset Rural Youth Project. I haven't played as many gigs as I would have liked since I often had to rely on asking favours from friends to play with me.
The music itself is a mixture of indie/pop/emo/synth/rock - basically think of The 1975, Chvrches, Against the Current, Pale Waves with influences from Blink 182 and Mayday Parade. The live line-up consists of me on guitar, a bassist and a drummer playing to a backing track which heavily synth based. Links to the music will be provided once an interest has been shown.
A friend of mine is passionate about the project and has kindly agreed to play bass (also paid), but now we're just looking for a drummer(s). We're looking for someone we can get on with and have fun with, but who's also reliable and professional when the time is right.
In all honesty - the plan is for this to feel like a band, have fun and go touring/gigging, but I'll take control of all the writing/business side. If you're interested in showing up, playing an awesome gig and not worrying about anything else this is definitely the job for you. I'll be paying you to compensate for the lack of creative control and for the use of your time - if you have a preferred rate, please mention it when you reply to this ad.
Other info;
The aim is to practice in Bridgwater, but we're definitely open to suggestions since we both drive.
Auditions will require learning four songs on the debut EP and a general chit chat.
You will not get paid to audition.
Payment will be adjusted depending on location.
While not necessary it does help if you can drive and can provide your own kit.
Anyone can apply - experience not necessary, age/gender/other is not a factor.
We'll get back to you as soon as we can!
Thanks for your time!
