Hello,
I have a music project on the go with an album already released, and I'm writing new songs right now with percussion and bass lines so really need some players who can play these instruments, get into the feel and vibe of what's happening with the sound and also be up for performing! I play guitar, have a good friend on keys (organ/pad sounds) and I set up shows here and there when it's time to play.
I would currently class the sound as - indie, alt-folk - female lead w/ 'reverby' electric guitar. I recorded my debut album in a chapel all alone so the overall sound was more sparse and spacious. But now there's more drive and momentum to my songs (sound wise and content) so really want to get that across with the help of more music friends and bigger sound.
I have plans set in stone to go and record my next album in New Zealand with a trusted producer at the beginning of 2019 then will be setting up tour dates either side of that. So if you are up for developing sounds alongside me, that will be the cherry on top.
Here's a list of influences - if you relate, I'm sure we can work something out..
Perfume Genius, Roy Orbison, Sharon Van Etten, Aldous Harding, Cocteau Twins, Angel Olsen, Patti Smith, The Pixies, Weyes Blood, Father John Misty, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Jim James, Courtney Barnett, Marlon Williams, Ella Fitzgerald..
Quite the blend, but most communicate the feeling of being the outsider, have elements of old school, melancholic tones with that contrast of optimistic build up. You get me?
If you haven't been put off by any of that, and want to try playing some music, please get in touch - I'd love to hear from you!
Thanks for reading,
Lucy
