This is just a repost of an ad I placed early July. It's probably in there somewhere but I'll emphasise again, I'm not super talented or educated with music, I've just been playin guitar in my bedroom a few years and want to start getting some band practice in. I spread my practice evenly between acoustic / amped guitar and singing. I'm a sort of musical donkey. I'm not winning any races and I usually look like sh*t but I've always got time for music and practice and people who want to make music. Heres my ad anyway.
My name is Aaron. I'm 25. I'm looking for people who want to cover songs. I play guitar, rythm I can enjoy but lead is preferred. I also sing, which I enjoy more than guitar but have been doing for half as long, about 3 years. There's a lot I want to cover. Probably thousands. I'll list a few off the top of my head. Even flow - Pearl Jam. Rooster - Alice in Chains. Man in the Box - Alice in Chains. Bleed it out - Linkin Park. Stand by me - Ben E.King. Rebel Yell - Billy Idol. I'm not super experiened but I have always put the time, effort and enthusiasm in. Black Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth, ACDC, GnR and Iron Maiden are all good with me. Stereophonics - Dakota. Scissor Sisters - Laura. Red Hot Chilli Peppers (I might be wrong but I think I do a good Anthony kuballadubis voice) The Strokes - Juicebox. Velvet Revolver - Slither. Nickleback - Burn it to the Ground. The Police - Roxanne. Kinda fed up with being treated like sh*t by employers and not being able to find anyone really into music. Losing my favourite game - The Cardigans. Gnarlz Barkley - Crazy. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man. We Fight Dragons - The Faster the Treadmill. The Hoosiers - Worried about Ray. Salem - It's only you (part 2). Maroon 5 - Makes me wonder. Under the Boardwalk - The Drifters. The Gambler - Kenny Rogers. Get your hands off my woman - The Darkness. Alterbridge. Disturbed. Bon Jovi. Danzig....
If find saying that I have a wide taste in music often gets translated into I don't have a taste in music I just like it all, which is not true. There's is a lot of terrible music out there. I'm just looking for people to play some songs with and have some fun. I'm very dedicated and understanding. I've met 25+ groups on here now. I'm always the one person going and meeting the group. Most were time wasters or found some reason to disband or give up. People really don't have a lot of staying power when it comes to music. Lots of 'work gets in the way' and other stupid excuses. I'm not interested in goals, gigs, money.. that's all a by-product. I just want to work on music at the moment. I've given a fairly comprehensive list of my musical tastes and what I want to do. I will happily work on originals at some points, but not to begin with.
So basically i'm looking for musicians. No prerequesites other than effort. Meeting anywhere within 30mins drive of Tewkesbury.
