LEAD GUITARIST WANTED — THE
PAINTING (GLASGOW)
The Painting are an established Glasgow-based band writing melodic, emotional pop with scale and atmosphere. Think big feelings, cinematic builds, and guitars that live in the space between rhythm and lead.
If you’re into The War on Drugs, Sam Fender, The 1975, Night Traveller, The
Paper Kites, or Djo, you’ll feel right at home.
We’re searching for a lead guitarist who cares about texture, melody, and serving the song.
Someone who can help shape the next chapter of our sound.
Someone who can pick up tracks quickly as we have tour dates kicking off in February.
You’re probably a good fit if you:
- Play melodic, expressive lead parts rather than flashy solos
- Love delay, reverb, movement, and mood
- Have experience playing to a click track
- Can write parts that lift choruses and drive verses (arps, lines, counter?melodies)
- Understand dynamics and restraint
- Are reliable, committed, and keen to gig and record
- Are fully equipped (guitar, pedals, amp/modelling setup)
- Are comfortable performing with in-ear monitors
Who we’re looking for:
- Gender: any
- Aged between 20–30
- Based in Glasgow or surrounding area’s
- Able to rehearse in Alexandria weekly
- Ideally someone who has accessible transport routes to Alexandria or can drive.
The vibe:
- Emotional, modern songwriting
- Big choruses and slow?burn builds
- Indie-pop with rock edges and cinematic textures
We’ve got released material, new songs in progress, and a clear plan to keep building
momentum. We’re looking for someone who wants to jump in, shape the sound, and be part of something long?term.
