Hi i'm looking for a lead guitarist to complete the lineup for my band, we're very specific to what we want so please read the ad carefully as it's pointless wasting your time and ours if you don't tick every box.
The influences range from Thee Hypnotics,Heavy Trash Nick Cave, Grinderman, the Cramps, Calexico, the Gun Club, Kid Congo and the pink monkey birds, Blanche, Dan Sartain, the Velvet Underground. We play dark bluesy rock with some latin tinged Americana stuff and punky rockabilly.
What i'm looking for is a lead guitarist who has that rockabilly/surfy sound, who plays a certain type of guitar like a Gretsch or a similar hollowbody, a tele (Fender or Squier)with a Bigsby or a jazzmaster or jaguar, something retro with a vibrato arm. Must have a tremelo and slapback delay pedal and reverb (pedal or amp), slide playing would be useful as well.
Must have transport obviously.
Must be able to get to the outskirts of Horsham for a weekly rehearsal.
Mustn't be in any other bands, full commitment is a must.
You must like the same music (see above)
Aged between 40 and 55 (we're late 40's early 50's)
Have a good image, we will wear suits onstage make an effort when gigging, no trainers on stage except the drummer.
No singer songwriters, we have a full set list, just a lead guitarist.
The plan is to get the set tight, record and make videos (our drummer is a video maker)
I hope all this makes sense because as i said at the start it's not worth wasting everyone's time if you don't tick every box, all of us on here are desperate to be in a band but If it's not right it's a waste of everyone's time and you can probably tell i've had a fair amount of time wasted by responses from JMB ads!
If you have any links to you playing audio or video that would be great, all of our songs are very easy to play and we're looking for mood and atmosphere rather than virtuoso playing.
I hope this all makes sense if it doesn't then please don't apply.
