I'm looking for some talented musicians to get together, ideally fortnightly, to play some of those 220 Beatles songs (not just the ones you hear all the time) to a decent standard.
This is NOT about forming a costumed 4-piece tribute band earning decent money touring the country. But I would want to still want to wow the occasional audience, e.g. at a party, a local social club or charity gig.
I'd be looking to play bass most of the time, and would join in with the singing on some of the numbers. Unlike Paul, I can't always do both at the same time!
I'm looking for a drummer, a couple of guitarists and a keyboard player. And of course some more singers to nail those harmonies. And enjoy ourselves.
My hair is starting to go grey, but I don't mind what age or gender you are, if the above appeals to you and you can sing OR play. (Doesn't matter if you can't do both - a 5 or a 6 piece would work for what I have in mind)
Unless one of the group has his / her rehearsal space I imagine we'd try and get a regular booking at Swervjam in Basingstoke, so there will be a modest cost involved. I'm free most afternoons and evenings, but appreciate we'll need to find days / times to suit everyone.
Maybe convince a local social slub to let us practice there in return for playing for free once a month. Who knows?
