(Rushden)

We are a small group of shall we say older men, playing folk, country, some well worn classics, and other surprisingly modern tunes but with our own take on it. Our bass player just left us so It is time to rethink.
What we really miss is a lady that can take on lead vocals for some songs, provide backing for others and for preference also play a melodian or accordian to add power to what we do.
You need to be independent in terms of transport, able to make weekly rehearsals in Rushden, and open to new ways of playing things.
You must not be afraid of dogs (as some rehearsals are at my house where I have 2 dogs that do their absolute best to look after their owners, but are very friendly once they know you.)
This is a group, not a band. All members have equal input into what we do and when. We play publicly about once a month, although we are seeking to increase that in 2019 to once a fortnight.
It's for fun and the challenge. It pays diddly squat.
In the group currently: Me, (Ashley) lead vocals (and trying not to do so much singing, hence this advert) on 6,12 string guitar and Bazouki. Ex new age, reggae and rock. Tom, on 6 string guitar - doing lovely stuff with finger picking. Ex ceilidh and rock bands. Steve, Violin. Ex folk and ceilidh bands. Just started doing a bit of backing vocals against his better judgement, but working surprisingly well.
If you ride a Triumph motorbike, that is an added plus but not necessary. Our 'band' name is "The Triumphs" which came about at St Neots folk club when asked for a name. It transpired that all of us ride motorbikes from that stable.
