I'm a guitarist looking for a singer for an originals project. I'm looking for a different kind of voice - not genre-specific, not jazz/blues/X-factor/rock - just something that sounds a bit original and not too forced. Straight tone, so minimal or no vibrato, but can be edgy too.
Before you reply please make sure:
- You have listened to my soundcloud (mystringtheory) a like that kind of vibe
- You have some examples of your singing you can share online or send by email
- You are reliable and enthusiastic about getting involved in a project.
- You have read the rest of this ad.
You can have a look at what I've done before if you search for soundcloud and mystringtheory
I've got diverse influences and I'm finding it hard to write in strictly one genre, so I'm thinking maybe just do a bit of everything - alt rock, electronic, folk, psychedelic, pop. I’d really like to produce something a little different to what I’ve done before, something energetic, rhythmic and hopefully exciting.
Looking at setting up a band, some gigs and some recording and some gigs. There's the potential to co-write if it sounds good.
Diverse influences randomly include: Foals, Wilco, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Doves, Damon Albarn, Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Kate Bush, Bat for Lashes. Etc ad infinitum.
Please reply only if you can provide an example of your singing - something recorded on your phone is fine. Write me here for my email address. I’m 43 and live in Cambridge if that puts you off – but I play music in London pretty regularly. It’s 45 mins by train so doable but means that the journey needs to be worth the effort!
Thanks.
