I'm a songwriter looking for a singer for an originals project.
I'm looking for a different kind of voice - not genre-specific, not jazz/blues/X-factor/rock - just something that sounds a bit original and not too forced. Straight tone, so minimal or no vibrato, but can be edgy too.
Before you reply please make sure:
- You have listened to my soundcloud (mystringtheory) a like that kind of vibe
- You have some examples of your singing you can share online or send by email (or you are willing to record something quickly on your phone)
- You are reliable and enthusiastic about getting involved in a project.
- You have read the rest of this ad.
You can have a look at what I've done before if you search for soundcloud and mystringtheory or go to soundcloud.com/mystringtheory
I've got diverse influences but I guess my biggest influences are Radiohead and Massive Attack. I’d really like to produce something a little different to what I’ve done before, something energetic, rhythmic and hopefully exciting.
I have switched from piano to guitar for various reasons and I’m now trying to create a new sound looking just to record some demos with my home recording equipment.
Looking at setting up a band, some gigs and some recording and some gigs. There's the potential to co-write if it sounds good.
Diverse influences randomly include: Foals, Wilco, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Doves, Damon Albarn, Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Kate Bush, Bat for Lashes. Etc ad infinitum.
Please reply only if you can provide an example of your singing - something recorded on your phone is fine. Write me here for my email address. I’m 43 and live in Cambridge if that puts you off.
Thanks.
