Hey!
65M. 50 years playing Guitar/Bass.
I'm not looking for a covers band. That's probably my only firm rule. Beyond that, I'm pretty flexible.
I'm happy to join someone else's project, start something from scratch, play guitar or bass, contribute ideas, arrange, record, or simply play. I'm genre-fluid — probably somewhere around the rock/ pop/folk area, but that's not a prescription. Jazz influences are welcome, as are things that don't fit neatly anywhere.
What matters to me is that we're making original music that is good enough to make us want to play it.
I'm not particularly bothered about how much we gig. If the music is good and the people are cool, I'll happily play to twelve people in a pub. If we make something that lots of people want to hear, that's great too.
After 50 years of playing, I'm probably more interested in finding good musicians, and making something worthwhile, than in ticking the usual boxes of being “in a band”.
Ideally, I'd like to play with people who have their own ideas, are curious, listen to each other, and occasionally make me think…“wow!”
I'm also quite happy to learn. In fact, that's one of the attractions. I'm not looking for a particular age, genre, level of ambition or musical role. You might be a songwriter with a project already under way, a singer looking for musicians, or somebody who simply fancies seeing what happens when a few people get together.
If you're making original music — or want to — and think I might fit, please reach out.
