Yo,
So first of all I'll be on guitar and vox and then we have drummer, we're both aged 28.
The idea of the band is basically that all of the music we write is paired directly with the narration of a story, so in the writing room we'll be asking each other such ridiculous questions as "Does this riff sound enough like a bear killing someone to you?". It's kind of like we're writing musicals I guess, but without the stageplay.
There's many more layers to it but I don't wanna type for 20 hours trying to explain it so that's the abridged version. We're gonna be genre swapping a lot, but realistically the main kinda sounds we're going for will be metal, noisey sh*t, a cheeky bit of punk and then whacky prog riffs, but keep in mind that we'll be writing whatever fits best with the story that we've written, so these are just the main sounds - we'll also be dipping our toes into wide, spacey/psychadelic sh*t as well as softer sounds when required.
It would be amazing if we could get extra vocals. Gang-vocals are required but if you can sing for harmonies or scream (especially false-chord as I can't do it for sh*t) it would be f***king amazing.
We'll be mainly writing the songs together and I like to promote an open and collaborative space where anyone can veto any idea they dislike for whatever reason. With that in mind you'll be expected to leave your precious ego at the door as we're aiming to create the best music we possibly can whilst remaining completely faithful to the concept. If you haven't written your riff with a story in mind - or we can't link it to one that's on the back burner, then we'll either re-work the riff to better fit a given narrative or will put it in the pile of riffs to come back to.
We have two songs written but these were done so as we were finding our feet so we're not entirely married to them. Bedroom demo's are available for both so you can get a sense of it, though only guitar and midi drums are on them so we can write any extra parts together.
