**The songs are written. The recordings are underway. Now I need someone to help bring them to life on stage.**
I'm a singer-songwriter based in Over, Cambridgeshire, looking for a guitarist/vocalist to join me in developing a live duo for my original indie folk-pop project, **Long Baker**.
The music sits somewhere between early Bon Iver, Frank Turner and The Lightning Seeds — acoustic guitar foundations, strong melodies, memorable hooks and the occasional big, uplifting chorus.
I've got 11 recorded songs (three mixed and mastered, eight awaiting mixing), plus plenty more in development. This isn't a project starting from scratch — there's a substantial catalogue ready to turn into a live set.
**The idea is a duo:** I'll handle most of the lead vocals and audience interaction, while you bring guitar, vocal harmonies and perhaps occasional lead vocals. We'll use selected Ableton backing tracks for drums, bass and other instruments where needed, giving us the flexibility to play intimate acoustic sets or create a bigger, full-band sound.
I'm looking for a musical collaborator, not just someone to reproduce guitar parts. I'd love someone who brings their own ideas and helps shape how the songs work live.
The ambition is modest but serious: perhaps one or two carefully chosen gigs a month, concentrating on original music venues, songwriter nights and small festivals rather than the covers circuit.
**First goal?** Work up three songs together, take them to a local open mic and see how we get on. No huge commitment upfront — just an opportunity to make some music and find out whether there's a spark.
Age and gender don't matter, and other musical projects are absolutely fine. Musical chemistry, reliability and enthusiasm are what count.
I'm based in Over, so St Ives, Huntingdon, Ely, Cambridge and surrounding villages would all work.
If this sounds interesting, drop me a message. I'm happy to share recordings so you can hear what Long Baker is all about.
