Hi,
We are 3 musicians on the lookout for a great lead guitarist to complete the line-up of a great new 90s based indie/rock band playing a variety of tunes, most of which known but not the predictable choices! We have a great backline of bass and drums (male and mid 40s) who have played numerous gigs in other outfits and very experienced, and our female friend Aimee (no experience!) said " I will sing" to which we were like .nahh! Anyway, low and behold she has a fab voice which we think will capture an audience and along with her image has the potential to be a fantastic front woman!
We don't have to be strictly 90s however that seems to be the direction and maybe genre of the band moving forward as a selling idea to venues.
As an example, songs Aimee has thrown our way so far and which we think are good are:
Don't speak (no doubt)
U oughta know (Alanis)
Are u gonna go my way (kravitz)
My Hero (Foos)
Hedonism (skunk anansie)
Dear or alive (Jovi)
No-one knows (queen of stone age)
Run (snow patrol)
High n dry (Radiohead)
Zombie (cranberries)
I'm with you (Avril Lavigne)
If it makes u happy (Sheryl crow)
Weep (skunk anansie)
What else, we have PA and light s (smoke machine..whoohoo), and have not got together since covid came along. We want a guitarist to join us in playing some great music with the aim to be gigging only once or twice a month, and more importantly to have a good laugh as a bunch of mates.
Aimee has also been throwing some other ideas about outside of the 90s period, so again let's just see where this takes us..(Springsteen, ray lamontayne, Beatles, even a great Whitney Houston acoustic cover!)..
We will be looking to identify beat place to practice once we have a guitarist and to hopefully practice once a week.
No time wasters please!
Get in touch..
John
