GUITARIST/BASSIST WANTED – FAINT SMILE – LEAMINGTON SPA
We’re Faint Smile, an established rock band based around Leamington Spa, and we’re looking for another guitarist/bassist to join us.
We’re currently a four-piece — singer, guitarist, bassist and drummer — aged 24–29. We’re all good mates, regularly practise, perform live, write our own music and play covers. Our sound sits around alternative/rock with Paramore vibes.
We’re looking to add a second guitarist, but we’d like to do something a little more flexible than having fixed roles. Our current guitarist and bassist can both play guitar and bass, so ideally the three of you would be happy switching between guitar and bass across different songs. If you have a preference of guitar/bass or can only play one, we still want to hear from you.
Who we’re looking for
• A solid guitarist/bassist who enjoys being creative rather than just copying parts
• Someone serious about music, writing, recording and playing live
• Happy contributing ideas and putting their own stamp on songs
• Open to learning our existing material and covers
• Up for suggesting songs you’d like the band to cover too
• Reliable and able to practise with us in Leamington Spa or nearby
• Ideally around a similar age to us, but finding the right person matters more
If you can do occasional backing vocals, that would be a massive bonus — harmonies/shouts/extra vocal parts could add a lot to the band — but please don’t let that put you off if you don’t sing. It’s absolutely not a requirement.
We’ve already got music out on Apple Music, so you can listen to beforehand to get a feel for us.
Most importantly, we want someone who genuinely loves making music, wants to contribute creatively, and is looking for a band they can properly become part of. We take the music seriously, but we also want rehearsals, gigs and writing together to be fun.
If this sounds like your thing, drop us a message on Join My Band. Tell us a little about yourself, what you play, your influences and what you’re looking for in a band. Links/videos of you playing are welcome if you have them, but not essential.
