Established band with released music and several gigs under our belt (and plenty booked already for this year) looking for a guitarist to replace a member who is leaving in April due to personal circumstances. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the local Manchester metal scene, join a band of close friends and play some unique music! Tabs, demos and practice tracks are all available upon request. We are posting this anonymously as we haven't yet announced the departure of our second guitarist but full details of the band will be revealed upon contact.
Subgenre of Black/Death Symphonic Metal.
Musts:
-Availability every Monday afternoon/evening for rehearsals, writing sessions, photoshoots, etc.
-Ability to travel to Salford University for rehearsals.
-Availability for pre-booked gigs and enough calendar space for booking more.
-Own suitable equipment (black or natural finish guitar, method of amplification*).
-The ability to play guitar to the conventions of black metal.
-A basic understanding of stage performance.
-Have the confidence to wear stage makeup and outfits (It's nothing extreme, don't worry!)
-A desire for success; A good level of dedication, professionalism, and commitment to the band whilst also supporting the local scene.
Desirables (Please still apply if you don't meet these!)
*Own a Midi capable pedalboard emulator (Headrush, line6 etc) for logistical and tech reasons.
-Stage experience as a previous or current member of a metal band.
-Lead playing.
-Established connections with promoters outside of the 0161.
-Enjoyment of classical music, musical theatre, literature, linguistics, philosophy or anything else along those lines.
-Have your own transport.
-Attend Salford University and are a member of one of the music courses - We'd like to especially aim this at first-year students as we know it can be hard to make metalhead friends!
Auditions are a necessary evil but they will be casual and friendly with plenty of time to prepare - If you have questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
