Guitarist looking to start or join a social jam Oldham

Been playing for 20+ years (I’m 36) but ridiculously rusty because of work / other commitments. Looking to either join up with a group or get a few people to get together and just make some noise for a couple of hours every couple of weeks or so and just be in the zone for a bit.

We'll set some homework - each person sets one song for everyone to learn or a riff to work off, the rest of the session we just spend working out where that goes or just winging it.

I play guitar - have my own gear, amps, pedals etc. Based in Oldham with a decent size car to cart any gear if needed.

Been to a few of the Matt & Phreds nights but I’m way off the mark for that these days so just wanted to make a smaller start.

I’m into all sorts, but some stuff I’ve been listening to / play along with recently:

Hot Mulligan, New Found Glory, Hall & Oates, Owen, Blossoms, Phoenix, Khruangbin, Movements, Wonder Years, Paramore, Fleetwood Mac, RHCP, Gaslight Anthem, Menzingers, Spanish Love Songs, The Beaches, The Hold Steady, Sade, Fall Out Boy, Less Than Jake, Foals

Would ideally want drums, bass, vox, keys - throw in some brass / horns too and we’ve got a proper do on.

This is less about the grind, not overly concerned with gigs (not until the rust shakes off) but more about hanging out with likeminded spare room musicians or folk who just want to play music for a laugh.
