(Drummer, 2nd Guitar, Vocals + Bass needed)
First of all, this is merely me dipping my toe in the water and seeing what the interest is like out there for something like this. This project may not progress anywhere. I currently already play in another band, so my primary commitments lie with them. This just an idea I've had brewing around my head for some time now.
Looking to put together a covers band playing primarily 'popular' Metal, with a few rock covers chucked in too. Think; Machine Head, SOAD, Slipknot, Lamb of God, Disturbed, Metallica, Anthrax, Motorhead etc and you're on the right track. Add in covers from AC/DC, Deep Purple + other similar era bands too. Open to ideas also. Be nice to chuck in a few songs from the Nu-Metal era too.
Looking for ..basically an entire band. I play guitar, so I'd be looking for a second guitarist, drummer, bassist and vocalist. All should be technically proficient but do not need to be experts (I do not play metal stuff primarily, I'd need to learn A LOT), absolutely must have their own transport & comfortable with assisting with any financial contributions for rehearsal space etc. Also it goes without saying that you'll also need your own decent quality equipment. If you have a PA also, that would be fantastic.
Not looking for egos, time wasters, fickle people or anyone to try and push their original material.
Vocalists - looking for someone who can good vocal control, can comfortably sing in both a melodic and harsh metal style. If you can reply with any links you have to audio/video of you singing - that would be good. Singling out the vocalist requirements here as I believe this is the hardest 'instrument' in the band, if you have a good metal vocalist - the rest will fall into place.
Rest of band - looking for proficient players, don't need to be virtuoso's as I am not. Metal is a new playing style to me, so I'll have a steep learning curve myself. As stated earlier, own equipment required (gig-worthy ideally), own transport is essential (if you cannot make it to practice and potentially gigs without assistance, please don't apply)
Age isn't massively important to me. As long as you can play, can get yourself around and can contribute to expenses where required then your age quite frankly doesn't bother me. Neither does gender. I'm a late 20s male myself. Having a 'metal image' isn't also a requirement. I'm reasonably tattooed but other than that don't dress or appear as a typical metal fan. Obviously if you do have this image then that's fine, I just don't expect it from anyone wanting to join. If you're in another band then that's fine also - but I'd expect any commitments that may arise with this project to be honoured as I would honour any commitments with your other outfit.
As this is a relatively niche project, I wouldn't expect gigs to be in an abundance - however I should be able to secure gigs at a few venues, should things get that far. For now I'm just looking to meet up, jam some songs out and see how it goes.
Due to needing a full band, initially getting this off the ground may take some time - so I'd appreciate patience. Once I have enough people on board, I'll book somewhere to rehearse that is suitably located for us all (unless anyone is able to provide anything). I'm based in Spennymoor, south of Durham but am willing to travel within a reasonable distance to rehearse. From there we can jam out a few songs and see how we get on.
If you're interested please reply, ideally with links to audio and/or video of yourself performing if possible. Tell me a bit about yourself and your personal and musical background. I'll respond as soon as I can afterwards.
Look forward to hearing from you.
