I'm a 37 year old guitarist and have been playing guitar for over 25 years. I've played in various bands over the years in and around Manchester. I've been playing in a acoustic three piece in recent years and am itching to get back into a full band set up once again.
Influences are most things guitar based from over the last 60 years - Beatles, Stones, The Who, Cream, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, The Smiths, Stone Roses, Foo Fighters, Suede, Blur etc.
I don't mind doing covers but equally quite happy writing and coming up with original song ideas. I've uploaded a few videos of me playing guitar here -

I feel I'm a good guitarist and able to play a variety of styles to a decent level. I'm really enjoying playing again and practice every day. I have been playing mainly acoustic recently so have had to re-buy my electric set up from scratch - I haven't got professional equipment (Les Paul and Strat copy, a cheap 40W amp and a couple of pedals) but wouldn't be expecting to play Madison Square Gardens for a year or two anyway!
I'm free one evening in the week for practice (balancing work, kids etc.) and would be great to play a gig or two a month. I practice every day so would be able to put the work in between practices as well. I'm Stockport based and looking for something fairly local - don't really want to be travelling too far for practices. Like I say, I'm looking to get back into playing in a full band set up and fairly flexible as to what kind of band -covers, original, function as long as it's enjoyable. Thanks for reading, Rob.
