Hello. I'm a 33 year old guitarist based in Lincoln looking to find people to jam with and hopefully start a band. I've got some song ideas already (poorly recorded on a phone, but it's something) and would love to find folks to write songs with.
I'm looking to play anything post-hardcore/hardcore-adjacent, punk rock etc. It might be better for me to list some bands I've listened to in the past or currently as that has shaped my sound. Some examples would be Title Fight, At the Drive In, Basement, Rival Schools, High Vis, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Hotelier, old AFI etc.
I'm also a big fan of groups like The Smiths, The Cure, Pixies etc. So something that's a mixture of punk/hardcore with room for a bit of jangly guitars here and there might be nice, but I'm honestly just happy to play anything. I have a pedalboard but like to keep it minimal, mainly using a compressor, reverb, occassional delay, chorus and an overdrive pedal.
I play a Baja Fender Telecaster but currently through a small Yamaha amp which is enough for practicing, but happy to rent larger amp equipment or a practice space somewhere. I have a car and would be willing to travel and can also provide transport if the jam sessions go well.
I'm really keen to start a band and have lots of ideas and would be cool to find another guitarist, bassist and vocalist, but would like to start by just having a jam without any pressure and seeing how things go.
I'm self-taught and don't care if you've been playing for a year or for your entire life, all I want to do is make music and be happy doing it so please don't worry about your skill level, experience etc.
