33yo male Guitarist looking for relaxed jams / band / no pressure
Intermediate-ish guitarist looking for some people to play music with.
I’m not a pro, I’m not a shredder and I’m definitely not looking for anything overly serious. I mainly want to get out of playing guitar on my own, meet some decent people, have a laugh and actually play music together.
I’m into stuff like Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, CCR, Metallica, classic rock, blues rock and generally anything with a decent expressive guitar part.
I play rhythm and a bit of lead. I’ve been learning things like Sultans of Swing, Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2, Nothing Else Matters, Fade to Black and Run Through the Jungle. I am suoer eclectic though so i will go from trying to play master of puppets and the next song ill play will be tennessee whiskey or wicked game lol. I do like to attempt to sing but only done so after a few bevvys and got up on kareoke. My mates say they were shocked by how well i do but they were more pissed than me. ????????
I’ve never played properly in a band before, so I’m mainly looking for people who are relaxed about mistakes and aren’t expecting everything to be note-perfect. Happy to learn songs, jam around, swap ideas and improve together.
Gear-wise I currently have a Squier Strat (which is setup and aged better than most new full fat strats!), an Ibanez electro-acoustic, a gibson epiphone pre-fender lawsuit telecaster ive pimped up and a Marshall GFX50. I’ve only ever really bought gear for playing at home, so if anyone is happy to help point me in the right direction with pedals, amps or anything else I’d actually need for playing with other people, that would be appreciated too.
Not chasing gigs, fame or world domination. If it somehow turned into the odd gig one day then fair enough, but that’s definitely not the goal.
Basically: guitars, music, a laugh and no pressure.
I’m around the Worksop / Mansfield / Sheffield / Nottingham sort of area and happy to travel a reasonable distance.
