Hi Graeme,
We looking for a versatile bass player to join our group. As we’ve not found a permanent bassist yet…we usually get deps to cover. However, our dep bassist prefers that we find someone permanent as he is involved in other projects. We’ve been offered an opportunity for a gig at Thatcham High Street on 7th Oct to deliver 2 hour set, if you fancy coming on board. Gives you a chance to experience & influence what we do. Please no pressure mate…great opportunity to settle & establish yourself. We’re not looking for perfection…as everyone is perfect & unique in their own way. Openly we will be trialling out different bass players😊
I formed GrooveX Band around 2014 and we’re still going strong. Our last New Years Eve gig was Oakingham Belle in Wokingham in 2022.
We’re a covers band that have played for many different functions i.e. local pubs, balls, Thatcham & Basingstoke Festivals, weddings, birthday parties etc. We’re a band that covers all different genres to cater for as many different age groups, cultures…basically what the Customers wish. After all…they’re the ones that give us repeat business 😉
GrooveX Band current members:
• Jon Scott (Drummer): – Lives close to Wokingham. Joined the band around 2016. He is drum tutor and plays in other projects. Amazing versatile drummer
• NB: Two background vocalists will be also trialled as we speak...Bex and Chloe
• Cliffton Medford (Main Vocalist): – Lives close to Reading. Cliffton & I go back years in song writing collaboration projects & he joined GrooveX in 2017, debuting at Xmas switch on lights in Newbury. Two time X-Factor contestant reaching boot-camp. Amazing songwriter
• Rocky Chessman (Acoustic / Electric Guitar / Keys / Main & Backing Vocals): Toured locally & internationally across Mali, Germany & Bratislava. Played in various bands & delivered music workshops in schools, youth clubs, prisons & festivals
