Hi there,
I am a guitarist in my late 30s based in Bristol. I have played in various bands and at most venues in Bristol since I moved here nearly 15 years ago. Changes in circumstances for me and my past band mates over the last few months means it's time for me to start with something new.
I am ideally looking for either an established band that is looking to add somebody new into their fold and grow their material or a newer band that is finding its feet and looking for committed musicians to start building a repertoire of original material.
I want to be in a band where ideas are welcomed from all involved and they are developed together. I have been the main songwriter in some of my previous bands and would be delighted to contribute songs to a new band, but I am not looking for something to just be a vehicle for my own music. Creating music together with others is where I get the most joy.
I am primarily a guitarist, but I'm also an equally competent pianist and bassist and am happy to assume those roles at times to increase sonic possibilities.
Some of my favourite bands of all time include Doves, Elbow, Sea Power, Public Service Broadcasting and Villagers. Over the last few years, I've also gotten really into shoegaze and dream pop, both old and new including Slowdive, Deary, Night Tapes, bdrmm, Alvvays. I would love to be in a band making music that takes inspiration from these kinds of sounds.
If you have an opening, or think you might be musically compatible with me and are interested in having a chat, please get in touch. Cheers!
