Hey,
I’m looking to join a band or start a new project with people who are passionate about heavy music and want to create something. I’m primarily a guitarist, which is what I studied formally at university, but over the years I’ve taken on vocals, bass, drums and programming across various releases. A lot of that work involved full instrumentation, writing and arrangement, and stepping into whatever role the music needed.
I’ve also built up a strong background as a producer and mixing engineer. I’ve handled recording, engineering, mixing and full production duties on multiple releases, including projects where I was responsible for everything from tracking to the final mixdown. Outside my own work, I’ve recorded bands in the local area too, helping them build a sound that fits who they are.
In terms of influences, I grew up on classic thrash — Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Testament - that whole era shaped the way I play and write. Over time I got really into modern heavy and progressive metal too, bands like Meshuggah, Vildhjarta, Sylosis, Bleed From Within, Tesseract and that whole wave of rhythm?driven, atmospheric, technically interesting music. I like combining that old?school aggression with the clarity, precision and heaviness of more modern sounds.
Academically, I’ve gone deep into the craft as well. I’ve completed an undergraduate and master’s degree in music and recording, and I’m currently working on a PhD in the same field. I try to take everything I’ve learned and apply it in a way that’s practical rather than over?thought. For me it always comes back to the same thing: does the music hit emotionally and does it sound powerful.
I’m open to joining an established band or starting something from scratch. I can also drive. I've spent a lot of time in the studio and want to get back to playing live with other musicians and on the stage.
