Hello folks!
** The who
My name is Mauro. I am a music lover and a musician. I have been playing guitar since I was 12 years old; along the way I played semi-professionally in both original projects and cover bands. I am now in my mid 40s, and looking for a new start.
** The why
I'm looking to connect with like-minded people around me, for anything music-related.
I'm open to join and contribute to new musical projects, to play live in a cover band in pubs, jam, to go to some live shows, or to just chat about music.
This city is profit-oriented enough, I don't care about that. I care about art, music, and human connection.
** The what
My taste is broad but specific: I like forward-thinking, experimental, progressive, psychedelic music. And so I'm a huge fan of bands like Tool, Opeth, Boris; but also of jazz music, from be-bop to the 60s classics to fusion like Weather Report and the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
I also love electronic and ambient music, like the classic WARP names (Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards of Canada) or ambient pioneers and innovators like Eno, Roach, Yoshimura.
Having grown up in the 90s I love anything "grunge", in particular Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains. This is the most "pop" music I enjoy.
I am not a fan of "pop music" in general, unless it has the genius and experimental twist of the Beatles, to give you an idea.
** The when and where
I'll be available mostly on weekends. I live in Bromley, and I don't have a car. I'm therefore looking for people around SE London mostly, or close enough.
