Hello Drummers!
We are Groundrush, a rock band based in Plymouth. We have been together around 3 years, and our awesome drummer has just recently left due to life commitments, so we're now looking for a kickass replacement.
A little about us:
- Groundrush is a 4-piece
- We play mostly covers at the moment but are strongly pivoting towards originals
- Our favourite bands are Foo Fighters, Stereophonics, Kings of Leon, Biffy Clyro, Royal Blood, The Killers and Feeder (we play lots of covers from these bands as well as others)
- We are aged around 40ish and feel we have a strong style, but are also super easygoing and pride ourselves on being friends first, band second (no egos here!)
- We are into our gear. We have a hell of a setup including our own mixer, lights, PA, in-ear monitors, drum mics etc. I bet you won't find a better equipped band in the south west
- We currently get together for rehearsals 2-3 times a month, and gig once every 2-3 months (quality over quantity preferred here!)
- You can check us out on our website here: https://groundrushmusic.com/ or our social media: https://facebook.com/groundrushmusic
A little about you:
- We've been spoiled; our old drummer was really, really good and without putting pressure on we'd hope that you have the passion and skill to be able to pick up new songs quickly, jam on new material, play to a click where needed (especially when recording!) and be comfortable with gigging
- One of our top priorities is getting along well, we hope to find someone easygoing and likes to have a laugh
- While it is important to be able to learn songs quickly, it's also important to us that it is to a good degree of accuracy (not every fill has to be perfectly as recorded but we like to capture the feel of every song we play really well) and that you'd able to happily play a 30 song gig!
- Almost goes without saying but own transport and drum kit is a must
We do not consider ourselves a 'working band' - we all have day jobs and we are primarily doing this for fun, even though we take it fairly seriously. We think that someone trying to earn their living from this might not quite be the right fit as earning money from it is very low on our list of priorities. If you want to be in a fairly serious 'for fun' band and want to enjoy experiencing all the stuff that goes into that (getting into the studio to record, making music videos, photoshoots, various different types of gigs), then this is the perfect opportunity to come and meet us and make some great rock music!
