LOOKING FOR: Bass Guitar, Drums, Percussion, Horns/Wind (if you exist!)
LOCATION: Exeter, Devon (willing to travel reasonable distance)
ABOUT ME/THE PROJECT: Keyboard player with complete home studio setup (modular synths, vintage gear, piano) looking to form serious original instrumental fusion/prog project. I have 6+ compositions already written and recorded - this isn't theoretical, I'm actively creating music.
WHAT I'M AFTER: Bassist who understands groove AND harmonic movement. Drummer/percussionist who plays WITH the music, not over it - I will use a drum machine before working with loud, sloppy players. Horn player would be amazing if you exist in Devon.
NOT looking for: Guitarists (keys/synth cover the range), singers, or cover bands.
MUSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Play in multiple keys/modes (not just E/D/A minor)
Understand basic harmony and theory
Can both follow direction and contribute ideas. Actually know your instrument
INFLUENCES:
Weather Report, Pink Floyd, Genesis - honestly too many to count. If those three together make sense to you, you'll understand what I'm after.
DEAL-BREAKERS: Flaking, rigid attitudes, inability to finish material, loud-for-the-sake-of-loud playing.
THE REALITY: This ad will filter out most people. That's intentional. I've wasted time with incompetent musicians and I'm done with that. If you're serious about creating original instrumental music and can genuinely play, get in touch. If you're offended by high standards, we're not compatible.
Regular rehearsals. Goal is to record and release original material. Not chasing gigs immediately - focused on creating quality music first.
