I'm a female rock songwriter/singer/guitarist starting a band and I'd love you to be a part of it.
Looking for three other founding members: guitar, bass and drums. Under 30, male or female all welcome, good BV abilities strongly preferred, reliability a necessity. We'll be hitting the ground running, rehearsing on a weekly basis and gigging most likely a couple of times a month.
Some shows already booked for the summer - including an EP launch night at the Hope & Anchor on August 13th which is already looking likely to sell out.
I'd be looking for other musicians with a rock background primarily, but if you're into other genres and feel you can bring something unique to the project, I'm happy to hear it.
A few instrument-specific requirements so you can gauge if this if for you...
- Guitar: Looking for a very strong player (I myself am a fairly experienced guitarist, and write accordingly). Equally adept on both lead and rhythm, so that we can trade and switch it up on different songs. Great at creating new, complimenting parts to existing songs and coming up with some great leads. Good grasp of effects and creating texture, as well as different modes and time signatures.
- Bass: Likely nothing overly complicated here, so looking for a showman (or show-woman) who loves performing onstage and can bring some other skills to the band in addition to bass (think BVs, production, design, ability to drive, etc - any or all of these will be a great selling point).
- Drums: Looking for the absolute overlord of rock 'n' roll. The guy or girl who can play that Painkiller intro in their sleep, and gets all the love at their gigs for sheer enthusiasm and going completely ham on every song that comes their way. The heir of Keith Moon, Neil Peart and Danny Carey combined. This is the kind of drummer this music (and the world!) needs. Alternatively, if this is the kind of player you WANT to become, this might well be the band for you.
A little about me: I graduated from ICMP in 2014 (guitar and songwriting BA), and have spent a bunch of years doing guitar session work and gigging very (!) frequently solo-acoustic around London. I've played at Latitude, Standon Calling and opened for the Room and Beans On Toast, and write/record very varied songs with both a folk and some light prog-rock influence mixed in. My debut EP's coming out this summer and I felt the time was right to start up my band for the occasion.
If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, or if you'd like to get in contact to hear more, drop me a message.
