Tl;DR:
I'm an experienced bass player looking to form a metal band with influences from TOOL, to Black Sabbath, to Elder, to Dream Theater. The sound I'm going for is a darker, heavier "TOOL sound", with a strong sense of melody, and some middle eastern vibes. I have my own professionally recorded demo that I can send you a link to.
If your interested text me 07542656511.
(I do drive for a living so if I don't answer back straight away thats why!)
Long version:
I'm an experienced bass player with over 3 years experience playing around the North West. I'm 23, and have my own car. I have a Fender Precision bass, a Darkglass Microtubes 900V2, a Hartke HD150, and an array of different pedals. My own personal influences for my playing style are Justin Chancellor, Geezer Butler, John Entwhistle and Lemmy.
The sound I'm going for is a kinda cross between prog/stoner/doom/psychedelic/thrash, with some middle eastern flavour. In essence I want big fat riffs, an unusual song structure and a strong sense of melody. There is wiggle room on the sound though as I'm always up for bouncing ideas off of other people!
Ideally I'd be looking for:
Vocals:
Preferably someone with a pretty clean voice who is good at writing memorable melodys and hooks. A girls voice is definitely a preference although it's not necessary.
Guitars:
Someone who is good at writing massive riffs (obviously), who has a good ear for melody and knowing when and when not to hold back/go for it.
Drums:
The drummer in my previous band was amazing so really I have pretty high standards for a drummer that can do it all and do it well. Someone I can get into a groove with is very important, and is also capable of playing in odd time signatures from time to time.
This is something I want to take seriously so would want dedicated people, who have good gigging gear and experience, but can also have a laugh too. Also not particularly interested in playing with people massively out of my age range, anyone in their early/mid twenties will be fine.
I have my own professionally recorded demo where I played guitar and bass, and my friend filled in on drums. The song itself is still subject to change, plus my guitar work isn't as tight as my bass playing aha, so if you have any ideas I'd be more then happy to hear them and try them out! If you message me I'll happily send you a link.
I know with the current situation it could be quite a while before any of us can get to play live, but we can use this time to get tight as a band, write some good tunes, and maybe even get a single or two recorded!
