I'm looking for a female vocalist to join a new alternative-pop duo Mardy, based in Wigan, Greater Manchester.
I'm looking for someone who:
• Is reliable, ambitious and genuinely wants to go f***king overboard with it all and create something special.
• Is based in Wigan (or surrounding areas, and willing to travel over to meet and rehearse via plane, train or automobile).
• (Ideally) aged 18-25
About me:
I'm Con, 27, songwriter, backing vocalist, guitarist and producer behind Dafties (Google: Dafties, daftiesmusic.com, @daftiesmusic). My work background is marketing, so I have a keen head on me when it comes to branding, marketing music, getting booked, and creating/delivering opportunities!
Over the last year or two, I've built Dafties completely independently, achieving:
• 150,000+ Spotify streams in the breakout year.
• Multiple (14) features with BBC Introducing.
• Airplay locally, nationally and internationally, including Amazing Radio USA and more.
• Extensive media coverage and publications from;
Wigan Today, Warrington Worldwide, Music Crowns, Analogue Trash, Starzine Magazine, Right Chord Music, TunezNTrendz, SheMakesMusic, Sheffield Live, Content Nausea, Palava Magazine, Plastic Magazine, Lowton & Golborne News, Songs Behind The Music, Real Gone Rocks and Thomathy Entertainment.
• Released a professionally recorded live single through UK label Ameritz Music.
• Sold out our hometown headline show.
• Music played inside The Brick Community Stadium in Wigan during an EFL Sky Bet League One fixture.
• Played multiple festivals and live events across the North West.
• Recent music collaboration with AEW (All Elite Wrestling) pro-wrestler Kid Reed from ITV.
• Merch-line releases like tees, hoodies, vinyl.
• Multiple music videos and visualisers filmed & created.
• Regular professional photoshoots.
Everything I've done for Dafties is now being brought into Mardy from day one, giving it a much stronger head start and more experienced foundation. I'm ambitious about where this can go, and I'm looking for someone who shares that mindset.
The sound:
Guitar-driven alternative music blending alt-pop, indie-pop and grit-pop influences. Honest lyrics, big hooks, raw energy and atmosphere — with its own identity rather than copying anyone else.
If you're into artists like SOFY, Wet Leg, Momma, NewDad, Chloe Slater, Total Tommy, Soft Loft, Florence Road, Hana Lili, The Big Moon, Ethansroom or Sir Chloe, then you'll already know the vibe, style and messy bedroom aesthetic that I'm looking for!
The best thing about this? I handle the recording, composition and production of all our material, but the songwriting can be either a solo effort or a collaborative process — that's completely up to you, but I'd obvs prefer you brought your personality and identity into Mardy from day dot.
Ideally, I'm looking for someone who wants to fully invest themselves into this project, bring your own ideas, and make Mardy your own — creating content together, performing live, and becoming a genuine part of the duo.

Important: I'm not just looking to fill a space — I'm looking for the right person to help build Mardy into something genuinely exciting and worth talking about. Someone who wants their face indexed on Google next to 'Mardy' in a few months' time. I need someone who is willing to commit and see the project through, not someone who loses interest after 3–6 months and leaves everything having to be rebuilt from scratch. The goal is to take it seriously, put the work in, have a bevvy, and have a laugh to the point we're both on the floor with no noise coming out clapping like seals.
